another stitch in time share..

Hi there, I'm back with my second layout from this month's kit..this time sharing one of my families favourite things about Easter...yep it's right up there with the chocolate! Every Easter we make several batches of these hot cross buns.. They are so good I really should be making them all year long !

I was rather excited to see a Buzz and Bloom Mini Blossom in the kit..I'm lucky enough to be part of their design team also..so it's a bonus to play with even more goodies!
I wanted to keep the chipboard pretty natural for this layout so have just coloured the centre of the flower with some orange and brown inks (using a paint brush)

I've also sewn a section of the vintage sewing pattern onto the background paper (my attempt at reverse stitching on the machine lol) and trimmed down the Tall Library Card Pocket, using just to top part behind the photo..(saving the pocket bit for another layout)

Thanks for stopping by :)

stitched up..

Hi fellow Qtea peeps..I've finally found the time to sit down and play with this gorgeous kit! I've been getting back into scrapping 8.5x11" pages lately and love how these smaller layouts make my kit go even further.. I've used just a few bits and pieces from the kit on this one: blue flower stem, adia cloth, and the square vintage paper doily

On this layout, the first thing I did was cut a few little flowers from the vintage paper doily and inked them in aqua. I've also cut out a scallop border strip from the adia cloth and roughed up the edges a bit. Then I got brave and used a sewing machine for the first time on a layout!..I was so nervous about stuffing it up..sewing machines and me usually clash big time, but I was happy with the result and added texture..can't wait to do it again actually :)

I've finished off the layout with a couple of paper strips, some glimmer mist and paint and a title..

I hope you're having fun with your April Kit..I'll be back again soon to share another layout

Chalk'n'cheese & fancy free

Hi all it's Belinda here, a little late in sharing what I created with the April kit "A stitch in time" but I am here ;)

I haven't felt like creating much lately with a recent heart brake in my life but a little qtea magic got me working. I made this first page "Chalk & Cheese"

using-
cross stitch, paperbuzz and bloom blossom, heart note, pink and blue flower stems, book paper, Elle's journaling tag,Japanese fabric backing and embroidery floss. I really like this page and the photo's of my girls as they are so different but also so alike.

This page "Barefoot and fancy free" of my daughter Lucy on the beach was made

using-
measuring tape ribbon, sewing pattern tissue paper, Japanese fabric samples, library pocket, vintage doily paper, vintage book page and buzz and bloom blossom. Lots of goregous chalking on this page, it is really shimmery but the photo's don't show.

I have some peices left and I am working on a little doll but will share shortly. I have really liked this kit and I love that all the qtea kits can produce such a variety of different pages and projects. Jodi does a great job and I can't wait for next months kit.

Take care

Just Girly Enough

Hi everyone
Me again, Sharmaine
Did you see the sold out sign for the Stitch In Time kit??
It truly is a cool kit and I hope the postman delivers them extra quick so you can start creating!
Thought I would show you what I made using these bits of the kit
Golden Hands magazine page
sewing pattern tissue
Buzz and Bloom Blossom Mini
Measuring Tape Ribbon
and a piece of the paper doily

100_1004

I made this hanger for a friend of our eldest.
It started out very girly, inspired by the page from Golden Hands
But then I remembered the age group and grunged it up a little
Tried to make it ‘less girly’ but still leaving it just girly enough, hope I succeeded :)

Ok so can you see where the kit pieces are?
There is the Golden Hands page with some of the measuring tape ribbon

Some more ribbon with the sewing pattern and the doily is up in the top corner, painted blue :)

and the Buzz and Bloom Blossom, I just sploshed some paint and glitter over it, to add some depth to the hanger

Truly loved this kit and can’t wait to see what others create with it :)

Spot What?

When I opened up the envelope holding my “A Stitch In Time” Kit
My eyes popped
I love the possibilities this kit has
Endless!
You could use it on all manner of crafty goodness!
So today I had a play with just a sample of what was in the kit
I love to pull things apart
Make that kit s..t..r..e..t..c..h
For my first project I used 7 items from the kit
Can you spot them???

100_0979

1. I cut off the pocket and used the tall library card pocket (one of my favourite things in the kit)
2. I cut part of the Square Vintage Paper Doilie out. I thought this part looked a little like a dove???
3. I used the pink flower stem
4. Stitching it down with the pink floss

100_0981

5. I pushed out the centre of the Buzz and Bloom Blossom Mini. Painted it and added some doodled dots
6. I cut the bracket out from the Elle's Studio Journaling Tag

100_0982

and 7. I ripped off one end of the pink floss holder and stitched it on my page, adding another black accent to my page

So why not take a second look at the kit.
See the endless possibilities that it offers and amazing ways that you can make your kit stretch.

Sharmaine :)
