Thinking About You...

While I am breathlessly waiting to 'Follow the White Rabbit', I managed to create a 3rd with July's lovely J'ai laissé mon coeur à Paris Kit!

I made a 'Thinking About You' Tag and I have finally used up the Velvet Brocade Paper, the Vintage Garter Lace, the last Black Feather, the last Vintage Fortune Telling Card, Vintage Mini Postcard, the last of my Sweet Pearls and the last bits and pieces of the Black Spot Veiling (can you see them tucked neatly under the sweet pearls?)!

Here's a closer look.

I am now anticipating the arrival of the next kit! So, people! Don't Think, Just Create!!!!

Love,
Yvonne

birds of a feather...

.. flock together..as the saying goes. I've used the stunning j'ai laissé mon coeur à Paris kit on this layout of my daughter and her best friend. There are so many beautiful pieces in the kit..as Sharmaine mentioned below, the beaded trim is so stunning!!..I could only bring myself to cut off a little piece..but will save the rest for another creation soon..My other favourite is the velvet brocade paper..so pretty!

Along with the trim and brocade paper, I've used: vintage cleudo card, vintage cosmetic label, vintage book paper journal page, bling brad, white pearl heart ribbon slide and vintage mini postcard..

..and the black spot veiling which I cut some spots from to create a different effect..

..and can you spot something else? I've used the little piece from the envelope the kit came in..the bit where you tear it open on the side..to the left of the cleudo card above :)

Thanks for stopping by.. Ginaxox

Créez la mode

That’s what I thought of when I opened my j'ai laissé mon coeur à Paris kit
Well, not so much in French but the English of that lol
Create Fashion
Seriously this kit just made me want to create something gorgeous
As soon as I saw the black spot veiling, vintage garter trim and the silk fabric flower I knew I had to make it into a skirt
For something
Anything… goodness I even contemplated making it into a skirt for a Barbie Doll but wanted something a little more sophisticated than that ;)
So I stepped out of my comfort zone and made my very first…

DressForm

I also used one of the Sweet Pearls and the leather twine for the skirt

100_2508

and added some of the beaded trim around the neck line

100_2509

Isn’t that beaded trim splendid??? I even thought about leaving it as it was and just making a beaded bracelet, it was the perfect length ;) but I was brave and cut it up lol
Can’t wait to see what others create with the kit because it is so inspiringly wonderful!!

Follow the White Rabbit

“Who are you?” said the Caterpillar.
This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, “I-I hardly know, sir, just at present – at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then”.
“What do you mean by that?” said the Caterpillar sternly. “Explain yourself!”
“I can’t explain myself, I’m afraid, sir,” said Alice, “because I’m not myself, you see.”

My Tea For One

Thank you Jodi for the fantastic sale at ETSY! Have you visited?

I am here to share this layout with my Tea For One - Lucille Young at The Ball kit I just got off Qtea's etsy store recently! I ordered 3 kits from the sale and am so breathless trying to create something with them and share with everyone.

I used the Small Round Vintage Paper Doiley, the Vintage Bookpaper and the Vintage Lace for this Layout. The lace is just the prettiest! :) The doiley that came with this kit is difficult to find where I am in sunny Singapore. I've got lotsa doilies but none as elaborate and dainty.

I am thinking of what to post for the step-by-step and I hope an inspiration comes quick before it's starting to look like I am flooding with my posts here.

It's Friday night and weekend is creeping in on this breezy night. Hope your week was good and weekend even better!

Tille then.
Love,
Yvonne

Another ONe..

Hey all,

It's Friday here and this long week has finally come to an end and it's time to shut my mind off work totally. I managed to create a card with the remaining of my j'ai laissé mon coeur à Paris Kit...

I believed I used the remaining half of my pretty pretty Vintage Doiley, the Black Feather, the Vintage Cluedo Card and the Sweet Pearls!

Can you see the Cluedo Card?

And I realised I am not fantastic at creating anything for the men. It's difficult to resist not adding any pretty flowers or embellishment! So thanks to Qtea.. this kit is useful indeed!

I am hoping to create more with this kit.. till then.

Talk soon.

Love,
Yvonne

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Hey y'all... I am finally done with my first project as part of the QTea team and I must exclaim I absolutely adore this j'ai laissé mon coeur à Paris kit and I am sure I could come up with another 1 or 2 cards or layout with the precious stuff it came with..

With this kit Jodi shipped, I received all my Tea for One kits I took off etsy as well, so you can imagine how happy I was! :)

For this layout, I'd challenged myself to use as much from the kit and as little from my own stash..

I've used part of the Velvet Brocade Paper, 1 Vintage Fortune Telling Card, Black Spot Veiling, part of the Vintage Doiley, Vintage Cosmetic Label, Vintage Bookpaper as the photo matt, 1 bling baby brad and the raw silk fabric flower! Did I miss out anything?? Giggles.

I scrapped with a picture taken with my best friends during a photoshoot we had 2 yrs ago which I have not gotten down to edit and print.... so, I appreciated this time and this kit which is sooo appropriate to scrap my girly stuff.

Here's some close up shots.

[best friends : girls just wanna have fun]

I hope you'd love this and I am excited to scrap more and share soon!

Meanwhile... I am overcoming Monday blues here and hope you survived yours.

Talk soon.

Love, Yvonne

with {love} from Jody......

Well here are my layouts using the "j'ai laissé mon coeur à Paris " QTea Kit! I have to tell you - I really really loved this kit!
In the first layout, I used the teal twine, a feather, half of the doily, garter lace, a fortune telling card and the black spotted veiling.
In this second layout of my cute little niece, I used: velvet brocade paper, the other half of the doily, beaded trim, mini postcard, shoe clip, vintage note paper, cherry note paper, pearls, brads, the pink flower and the spotted veiling again.

I also used lots and lots of paint in this Stacy Young inspired layout - I got really messy and had a lot of fun doing it too! I hope you like my layouts!
Thank you again for having me as a part of the QTea team Jodi! xx

florals and fungi..

..work well together, don't you think? The Kikki K papers in the Scouts Honour kit were so beautiful to work with, I just had to use them again for this layout. I've scrapped a photo of my gorgeous Mum and daughter from our recent holiday together in Queensland.

The flowers were handcut from the Poppies for Grace notepaper and I've added some Wine Ric Rac trim, glued into place and stapled down..

..and I've done some more handcutting from the S'hroom notepaper and Forest Friends envelope.. and the flowers are from the reverse side of the Poppies for Grace notepaper,
which is also used under the photo and to make it go further I've cut it in half so there's
not actually any under the photo.. a little trick I often use to save on paper..

Thanks for stopping by...and I'd like to say goodbye to Belinda and Merdrey, I loved seeing your gorgeous creations every month, and it's so great to see Sharmaine back agan..also a warm welcome to Jody and Yvonne!..and last but not least a BIG thanks to Jodi for having me back again! :) Gxox

Hello!

Hello everyone

I'm Jody...I am married to John and have two gorgeous girls - Dacynta (a.k.a Flick -who turns 21 next month - geeze I am getting old) and Shannon (who is 19). I also have two fur babies - Bonnie a pure bred red kelpie and Dude - Bonnie's son who is a kelpie x chihuahua (don't ask). I am sure you will get to meet all of them through my layouts! *wink*

I have been scrapping for a while now - almost 10 years. My sister in law started it! She invited me along to a Creative Memories class and I signed up as a consultant on the day. I was hooked. CM was all I knew until one day, a new shop opened in my little country town....hmmmmm - a scrapbook store! I never knew there was such a thing! I found "real" scrapping!!!! And the rest, they say, is history!

I met Jodi through ScrapLounge and when she introduced me to QTea, a new and exciting avenue was there for me to express my scrapping and artistic journey. I love creating with the QTea kits and I appreciate Jodi giving me this opportunity! Thanks gorgeous!

I look forward to being a part of this creative and wonderful team! Congrats to the other girls too!

Love Jody xx

Sunday 4 July 2010

Hey There :)

I just wanted to pop in to say a loud HELLO and a big THANK YOU! :)

I started scrapping in 2007 when a dear friend dragged me into one of the local scrapbook store with her. She went there to, basically, get one, JUST one paper. SOmehow that trip turned out to be the start of good things to come! I was addicted to all the layouts they were displaying. I remembered questioning her; "Scrapbook'? What's that???"

Since that day, being ambitious, I decided to create my own wedding invitation cards, and after that more and then... it's unstoppable! *laughs*

I have a full time job in training and I love these classroom sessions where I get to share my knowledge and experience with everyone and also learn from theirs. Now, I just hope to, one day, marry my interest and passion and conduct my own workshop in scrapbooking and card making! When that day comes, it will be a dream come true...

I am very much, a typical Cancerian. I am blessed with great hubby and family who'd take care of the chores when I create and that gives me space and convenience + peace of mind when I need them.. scrapbooking and card making, to me, a therapy! A good one that enables me to shut the whole world off when I create!

I am now breathlessly waiting for my 1st kit to arrive so that I could PLAY with them! :)
My best creation moments - weekends, a cup of hot coffee in hand, the dog lying beside and CSI on TV! My taste in movies are somewhat different and shall not say much right now.. ha!

Finally, I want to thank Jodi for this wonderful opportunity and also a huge congrats to fellow Qtea Creative ladies... Jody, Sharmaine and Gina!

Have you mailed Jodi on the Getting-To-Know-You exercise here??? Just what are you waiting for??

Love,
Yvonne

Be Prepared!

The Scout’s Honour kit is so versatile!
It really is.
But then I say that about all the Qtea kits lol
I made this simple page using 3 elements from the kit

100_2205

The ribbon, the Kikki-K envelope and the little koala in the corner, that is cut from the Guide handbook page that I got with my kit, PERFECT!!

Wanted to use this post to say thanks to Belinda and Merdrey for being fabulously inspiring and say welcome to Jody and Yvonne as they join the new design team. yay to working to Gina again and so super happy to have been chosen to stay on. Thanks Jodi for believing in me and the opportunities to keep creating with such amazing kits :)
